Sony is going forward wth its plans for Spiderman. Whether you think it’s a good idea or not a Venim spinoff film is coming and a lot sooner than you would expect! October 5th 2018 is when we will see the alien symbiote and purely because it is a Venom film and not a Spiderman film, leads me to believe Spidey won’t feature very heavily.

There is a theory that Venom will pop up in Infinity War and find its way to Earth, maybe hitching a ride on Peter Parker’s suit. So will this be a prequel to Spidey getting his black suit or will it be set afterwards, maybe focusing on Eddie Brock. Could we even get Agent Venom?!

I’m going to out this I there, what if at the end of Spiderman: Homecoming Peter comes into contact with the symbiote and then starts Infinity War with his black suit. This way the Venom film could start with him breaking away from the symbiote and it searching for a new host. It’s unlikely to happen that way particularly because we don’t even know if this is going to be an McU film or not.

I am worried about the short time before release. Just over 18 months until the film is to be released seems very rushed. Is this just an attempt to get a Sony led Superhero film out, trying to make some money out of their character that Marvel have made good again? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Due to be directed by Alex Kurtzman, who already has Spidey experience having written The Amazing Spiderman 2, might inspire some confidence but I’m going to wait and see his latest directing role in the form of The Mummy reboot later this year, before I dismiss this project completely.

What do you think? Excited for Venom to be back? Let us know in the comments below.
