As connected movie universes become all the rage these days, it’s not surprising that actors want to get involved in them. Let’s face it if it’s anything like the MCU a single actor could have work for a decade!
The 2014 Gareth Edwards directed Godzilla was the beginning of what is now simply called ‘The Monsterverse’…..I wonder how long it took for them to come up with that one!
Godzilla: King of Monsters is a sequel to the 2014 film, taking the name of a 1956 Godzilla film and fitting in after Kong: Skull Island as part of the universe. Regardless of your thoughts on having connected ‘Monster’ movies you can’t deny some of the talent involved is impressive. Kong has Tom Hiddleston for a start!
Well now we have our first official Godzilla 2 casting. Millie Bobby Brown, made an overnight star by her role as Eleven in the Netflix show Stranger Things is set to star in the monster sequel. Nothing about her character is know yet or he plot of the film for that matter but if nothing else, she will be fantastic on screen, without a doubt.
Could she be the main human character? And why is Godzilla he king of the Monsters? Why not The Regal Kong?! These films are going to have a whole mess of questionable CGI but if the trailers for Skull Island are anything to go by, they could actually be entertaining.
Godzilla:King of Monsters is set for release on 22 March 2019.
What do you think of Eleven joining the monsters? Excited or does it turn you a bit ‘upside down’? Let us know in the comments.
