Now that the hype around Rogue One:A Star Wars Story has died down we are getting more information about the films that have yet to be released. With little known about Episode VIII, focus is on the Han Solo Anthology film set for release in 2018.

We have known for a while about Alden Ehrenreich playing Han, Donald Glover playing Lando and Emilia Clarke in an undisclosed role. The latest casting announcement is Woody Harrelson in an as yet unconfirmed role.

Harrelson himself has given the slightest of teases as to his responsibilities by saying he will be Han’s mentor of sorts but still a criminal. Could this be how our hero gets involved in the smuggling world? I doubt the relationship is going to be Father/Son, more like brothers with one prepared to sell the other out. Self preservation will probably be drummed into the young Solo.

Harrelson has already shown that he can own this type of role having played Haymitch, a mentor to Katniss in the Hunger Games movies so his ability isn’t in doubt. I’m just not sure he will be the right fit for the Star Wars universe. Personally I don’t think bugs names should have major roles in these films, they are much more suited to lesser know actors who haven’t been type cast in anyway.

However much he is in the film I’m sure he will be great, it’s just my overarching worry that the film is going to be bad that is making me hesitant. I guess we will have to wait and find out.
