With virtually no information on the film since it was released we finally have some hard facts to chew on!

Deadline have reported that David Goyer and Justin Rhodes will be writing the script for the Green Lantern Corps movie which is being described as ‘Lethal Weapon in Space’.

Goyer is clearly a trusted DC movie writer, being the man behind the pen for films such as the Nolan Batman Trilogy, Man of Steel and has had his hand in numerous TV shows and films based on comic book properties, including the upcoming Krypton TV show.

The film is going to be an origin story and will feature as it’s main characters, Hal ‘Freaking’ Jordan and John ‘Badass’ Stewart! In my opinion the two best humans to have taken up the Green Lantern ring. I’m guessing we are going to see Jordan training Stewart as a new member of the Corps, because in the comics at least, Hal is the first human Green Lantern.

I am beyond excited for this movie, not least because the last one was so disappointing. The Lanterns are amazing characters and the visuals for the lantern constructs are going to be incredible (as long as it’s done right!). There is no word yet on whether Ryan Reynolds will be involved in the movie but I have a feeling he is going to want to stay as far away from this as possible.

Green Lantern Corps is set for a 24th July 2020 release. How will the DCEU look by then? Will the Corps come to the aid of the Justice League? Will a Green Lantern be a member of thee League by that time? Excitement levels are through the roof and I’m more like an Orange Lantern at the moment, give me more information!!!!!

Are you excited by this news? (The correct answer is yes) Let the speculation engine start up. Who do you want to play Hal Jordan and John Stewart? Think any other human Lanterns will show up? Let us know in the comments below.
