It seems obvious really. Doctor Strange is due to be released this October, establishing the character fully in the MCU in some shape or form….see what I did there? With the reality altering and all that?

It was assumed by pretty much everyone as soon as the film was announced that Stephen Strange would be popping up in Infinity War to be part of the huge roster of heroes defending the Earth. But now we have confirmation….sort of.

Benedict Cumberbatch himself let slip during an interview for Empire Magazine that having to deal with the “logistical challenge” of lining up his schedule with that of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Bettany, “To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter,” Cumberbatch added. “So watch this space to see how that unfolds.”

So it’s pretty clear from this he is talking about filming scenes for Infinity War. Understandably, with so many A-list actors in the flick, getting them all on set at the same time will be an absolute nightmare but when they achieve it the result is sure to be incredible!

The Doc is going to be everywhere until then, his own film out in a few weeks, and a potential appearance or at least reference in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. The only question I have left is what time period his solo film is going to be set in. During the events of The Winter Soldier, Jasper Sitwell references Stephen Strange as a potential threat to Hydra. Had he already become the Sorcerer Supreme at this time? Making the Doctor Strange film a prequel to the downfall of SHIELD?

There will be all kinds of reality, space and time shuffling going on so who knows at this point. Instead why not check out the latest trailer for the film and get hyped for it’s imminent release!
